Terms of Use

These Terms govern all MAAR Connect accounts, websites, mobile applications and modules. Read them carefully before creating an account, applying as a provider or using a service.

Important: MAAR Connect is a technology platform connecting users and independent providers. It is not automatically the seller, transporter, tutor, property owner, hotel, pharmacy, employer or event organiser shown in a listing.

1. Agreement and eligibility

By registering, checking the acceptance boxes or continuing to use MAAR Connect, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you understand these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and that you have legal capacity to agree. Where applicable, a parent, guardian or authorised representative must consent for a user who cannot legally contract alone.

2. One account across all modules

Your account may access Bus Tickets, Marketplace, Learn, Real Estate and future Ride/Delivery, Food, Pharmacy, Hotels, Events, Jobs and News services. Additional module rules, prices, cancellation terms, safety notices or provider agreements form part of these Terms.

3. Account security and user responsibility

You must protect your password, verification codes and devices; use accurate names and contact details; promptly report unauthorised access; and never impersonate another person. You are responsible for actions performed through your account where loss results from sharing credentials, ignoring security warnings or failing to secure your device, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

4. Provider obligations

Sellers, agents, owners, tutors, transport operators and other providers must be legally entitled to offer their goods or services; keep licences, identity, stock, qualifications, prices, availability and descriptions accurate; honour confirmed commitments; protect customer information; issue required documents; obey safety and consumer rules; and cooperate with investigations. Approval or a verification badge is not a guarantee of future conduct.

5. Marketplace

Marketplace sellers are responsible for product legality, quality, authenticity, stock, warranties, delivery information and fulfilment. Customers must review product descriptions, seller details, delivery fees and return conditions. MAAR Connect may moderate listings, assist communication, hold or route supported payments where enabled, and suspend sellers, but does not manufacture independent sellers’ products.

6. Bus, ride and delivery services

Operators and drivers remain responsible for lawful operations, vehicles, routes, schedules, passenger safety, licences and service delivery. Users must provide correct journey details, arrive on time, follow safety instructions and avoid prohibited items. Delays may arise from traffic, weather, breakdowns, government action or operator decisions.

7. Learn

Tutors are responsible for qualifications, course accuracy, schedules and professional conduct. Students must use learning content lawfully, behave respectfully and independently verify whether a course or certificate meets a school, employer or regulator’s requirements. MAAR Connect does not guarantee examination results, employment or a particular educational outcome.

8. Real Estate

MAAR Connect does not collect property purchase, rent or reservation payments. Listings, offers and messages support introductions and discussion only. Before paying an owner or agent directly, customers must physically inspect the property, verify identity and authority to transact, check land title or ownership documents with competent authorities, obtain professional/legal assistance where appropriate, and sign proper documents. MAAR Connect is not responsible for loss caused by paying without reasonable verification, sending money to an unverified person or ignoring a platform warning, subject always to non-excludable law.

9. Food, Pharmacy, Hotels and Events

Providers must comply with applicable health, licensing, prescription, hygiene, accommodation and event rules. Users must disclose relevant order information and follow professional medical guidance. Platform information does not replace diagnosis, prescriptions, emergency services or professional advice. Event programmes and hotel availability may change under provider rules.

10. Jobs and News

Employers are responsible for lawful vacancies and recruitment. Applicants must verify employers and must not pay suspicious recruitment fees. News publishers are responsible for source accuracy and lawful content. MAAR Connect may label, correct or remove content but does not guarantee that every third-party post is complete or current.

11. Payments, fees and subscriptions

Displayed charges, commissions, subscription fees and delivery costs must be reviewed before confirmation. For a supported mobile-money payment, the customer must compare the account name displayed by the external provider with the recipient name shown by MAAR Connect and validate only when they match exactly. Payment authorisation occurs through the provider’s official channel; MAAR Connect does not request, receive, process or store mobile-money, Orange Money or card PINs. Supported payment providers may have separate terms. Users must not initiate false reversals or evade platform fees. Real Estate agents pay platform subscriptions; property customers pay agents or owners directly only after appropriate face-to-face and legal verification.

12. Prohibited conduct

You must not commit fraud; publish false, stolen, dangerous, unlawful or infringing material; harass users; scrape or copy the platform; bypass security; introduce malware; manipulate reviews; create misleading accounts; misuse personal data; or use MAAR Connect for unlawful activity. MAAR Connect may remove content, preserve evidence, restrict features, suspend accounts and cooperate with lawful authorities.

13. Reviews, reports and moderation

Reviews must describe genuine experiences and must not contain threats, private data or knowingly false statements. Reports must be honest. MAAR Connect may investigate, request documents, moderate content and take proportionate action. A platform decision does not replace police, court, regulator or professional remedies.

14. Platform availability and third parties

MAAR Connect aims for reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. External APIs, mobile-money networks, internet providers, maps and independent services may fail or change. Reasonable maintenance, security updates or legal restrictions may temporarily affect access.

15. Responsibility and limitation

Each user and independent provider is responsible for their own statements, decisions, goods, services and off-platform dealings. To the extent permitted by law, MAAR Connect is not liable for indirect or avoidable loss caused by user carelessness, false third-party information, ignored warnings, unsafe direct payment, weak account security or an independent provider’s conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility legally attributable to MAAR Connect.

16. Intellectual property

MAAR Connect, its software, interface, branding, logos, databases, designs and original content belong to MAAR TECHNOLOGY or authorised licensors. No person may copy, resell, reverse engineer, clone, republish or create confusingly similar branding without written permission. Users retain rights in lawful content they submit while granting MAAR Connect the limited permission needed to host, display, moderate and operate that content.

17. Suspension and termination

MAAR Connect may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate accounts for non-payment, safety risks, guideline breaches, fraud, unlawful conduct, repeated complaints or failure to cooperate. Serious threats may result in immediate restriction. Users remain responsible for obligations created before termination.

18. Changes, law and contact

Material changes may require renewed acceptance. These Terms are interpreted under applicable Cameroonian law, including mandatory consumer protections. Disputes should first be reported to MAAR Connect support at +237 670 263 121. Users may also use any regulator, court or remedy available by law.

Professional review recommended: Before public commercial launch, have a qualified Cameroonian lawyer review these Terms for the final company registration details, licences, dispute process and deployed payment model.
